Darius Anderson

Darius Anderson is the owner of Kenwood Investments[1] He is also the Founder and President of Platinum Advisors, a full-service government affairs firm that ranks in the top five of California government advocacy companies. With offices in Sacramento, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco, Platinum Advisors provides lobbying, real estate project development, procurement, public affairs and strategic consulting to corporations, governments, trade associations and non-profit groups.[2]
Darius founded Platinum Advisors in 1998.[3]
Darius is described as a political strategist who also understands the hard-charging working dynamics of big business and big government.
A fourth-generation San Franciscan who manages the Treasure Island Development Project, which is a $1 billion economic redevelopment of former Naval Station Treasure Island located in the San Francisco Bay.[4][5]
Darius Anderson was also deeply involved in the transaction of the historical 82,000-acre Hearst Ranch private/public land conservation project. Other innovative real estate projects Darius spearheads is the Anaheim Market Place Partners’ redevelopment of an historical part of downtown Anaheim and the Graton Indian Tribe casino development in Sonoma.[6]
Darius has been active in national, state and local politics his entire working life. Widely recognized as one of California’s most effective political strategists and fundraisers, he has and continues to advise many of California’s highest-ranking political and business leaders, including State Treasurer Phil Angelides, State Controller Steve Westly, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, Senate President pro Tem Don Perata, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, former California Assembly Speaker and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and corporate executives Ron Burkle, Eli Broad and Brad Grey.[7]
Darius served as Finance Chair to Governor Davis during his election in 1998 and his re-election in 2002, as well as the Director of the Governor’s Inaugural Committee. Darius oversaw all of the operations, events and fundraising for the most inclusive, broad-based, large-scale inaugural celebration in California history.[8]
As the Vice President of External Affairs for a $5 billion Southern California-based grocery chain, Darius oversaw all aspects of government affairs, community relations, corporate communications and public relations for the company. He also served as the Executive Director of the Ralphs/Food 4 Less Foundation.[9]
Darius takes his philanthropy seriously. He’s involved in a variety of charitable activities. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Willie L. Brown, Jr., Center on Politics and Public Service Foundation. He’s also active in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program and owns world-class collections of both baseball and Jack London memorabilia. Darius Anderson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.[10]
