Utuma Belfry is a third-generation Bayview resident appointed to the Hunters Point Shipyard Citizen Advisory Council, by Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Belfrey has been praised for her advocacy in Housing, Employment/Business opportunities for residents in the Bayview community. She is a member of the I.B.E.W #6 (Electrician Union.) Utuma is a member of the Shiloh Full Gospel Church and is active in the Northern California Tradeswomen Policy Committee.[1]
